How do you keep every exam unique to each child?

Families sometimes ask how you can be sure a candidate will not see the same questions twice, particularly if they sit assessments at more than one school. We handle this in two ways.

For exams with fixed resources, such as an English comprehension text, we produce different texts for each school so there is no overlap.

For adaptive exams, such as Maths, we take a two-part approach. First, volume: we hold a very large bank of questions, so there is ample variety for candidates sitting several adaptive Quest exams. Second, matching: the system recognises when a candidate with the same name and date of birth sits more than one exam and omits any questions they have already seen. It does not need an exact match either. It will soft match to be safe, so a John Smith at one school and a Jonathan Smith with the same date of birth at another would still be flagged.
